National Specialty Weekend 2008
Montgomery County Kennel Club

Tent

The Montgomery County Kennel Club’s 74th annual All Terrier Conformation Show was held on Sunday, Oct 5 in the town of Blue Bell, PA, host to Montgomery since 2005.  The show grounds, set in the beautiful fields surrounding the Montgomery County Community College, are transformed on this day to welcome the thousands of visitors eager to be part of history in the making.  The sight of the single expansive white tent that covers the 17 rings, in addition to the red blazers worn by the hard working members of this famous dog club evoke that undeniable air of excitement for all terrier lovers. To truly understand the significance of this show one needs to bear in mind that for nearly three-quarters of a century fanciers from around the world have come here to witness a competition that finds the best handlers and the finest examples of the most difficult breeds to prepare for exhibition. Sharon and Keith wish to heartily thank George Tibaldi for the candid photos from Montgomery!

Spyder

This very special day is the culmination of years of carefully planned breedings and countless hours of preparation. This year, Ch Bayleigh Shaireab’s Super Hero, fondly referred to as the Spyder Man,  became our fifth consecutive Winners Dog at MCKC when he completed his Championship at the National. Spyder was Best of Winners and also Best of Opposite Sex from a highly competitive entry at the National Specialty Show.

Derry

Our girl, Derry, Ch Shaireab’s Bayleigh Good Time Girl, was Winners Bitch at MCKC.  She was spectacular as Best of Winners at both Hatboro and Devon in addition to her special win at Montgomery.  Derry also completed her Championship during this important weekend.

Cindy

Cindy, Willowall Cinderella Fantasy, bred by Sharon, Keith and Donna Maloney and owned by Donna was Best in Sweepstakes at the National Specialty Show.

Bonnie

Ch Shaireab’s Bayleigh of Brynhir

Justin

Ch Shaireab’s Just N Time

And so our tradition of excellence continues.  This is, for us, not an empty slogan, but the expectation of quality, passed on from generation to generation.  In 2007, Ch Shaireab’s Bayleigh of Brynhir (Bonnie, left) and Ch Shaireab’s Just N Time, (Justin, right) were Sire and Dam of the Year, an award given to the dog and bitch who produce the most puppies that complete their championships in the respective calendar year. Bonnie and Justin’s offspring were well represented at this year’s National Specialty.  Spyder is a Bonnie son, in addition to being Justin’s half brother by sharing the same father, Ch Shaireab’s Sam I Am.  Derry is a granddaughter of Bonnie and Justin through her father Will, Ch Bayleigh Shaireab’s Time Will Tell.  Cindy is also a granddaughter of Bonnie and Justin through her mother, Dewi, Ch Bayleigh Shaireab’s In Due Time.

Watch for Spyder, Ch Bayleigh Shaireab’s Super Hero, as he begins his specials career in 2009.  Stay tuned to our “puppy blog” for pictures of Derry with her babies.

As 2008 draws to  a close, we send our sincere wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year to all of you who visit our website, as well as those who own, or hope to own, one (or more) of our very special Welsh. Words can’t express the deep appreciation that we have for all the wonderful, caring people we have met and become friends with over the past years.  The time, energy and commitment necessary to breed, love and nurture each new litter and attain the successes we have been so fortunate to enjoy could not have happened without all of you Welsh Terrier lovers , literally around the world, who make it all possible with your support and devotion to the breed.
